Clinical Hypnotherapy


Hypnosis, or trance, is a natural state that all human beings enter regularly throughout the day.  Its use in Clinical hypnotherapy allows the therapist to talk and give positive suggestions direct to the unconscious (sub-conscious) mind to support change at the deepest level.

It may be surprising to many to learn that we experience trance states many times in the course of our lives. Even passing into ordinary sleep involves a kind of trance state.  The experience of hypnosis is similar: neither asleep nor awake and a little like daydreaming, with a pleasant feeling of deep relaxation behind it all.

Where will the Sessions Take Place?

Clinical Hypnotherapy sessions require a quiet, calming and comfortable space, so sessions are predominently held at The Jesmond Therapy centre, but arrangements can be made to meet at your home or office.

 

What exactly is involved?

An initial 30 minute consultation is recommended to informally explore your needs and for you to ask any questions that you might have. The consultation is generally conducted over the telephone and is free of charge.

The number of hypnotherapy sessions required thereafter ranges from 3-5 sessions of approximately 1 hour duration.  If formal trance is used during the session you will probably experience the pleasant, relaxing feeling of being in trance for around 30-45 minutes.

Hypnotherapy sessions are customised to your individual needs and wants, and your beliefs are respected at all times.  In sessions I adopt a blend of hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching to ensure that your needs are met and the experience is as valuable to you in between sessions.

You will be given tasks to do in between sessions – so please be prepared for that !
